Do you ever feel like you are drowning in a sea of too much information and too little truth?  We can begin to feel polluted and alienated from God.  Often when we are going through a trial, that is when we find ourselves most in need of truth.

The only place we will find absolute Truth is in God's word.

John 1:1-2 (Amplified Version) tells us that in the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God.

Did you catch that? Jesus was the Word from the beginning. So when we don't understand, when we hurt, when we are sinking in the mire of this old world, when we have prayed every prayer we know to pray, we can go to straight to the Source for our comfort!  Our lack of understanding is often a lack of knowing His word.

Read, and study!

Read, and eat your DAILY bread!

Read, and live His words.

A real relationship with Jesus freely offered, and He invites us to get to know Him.  We get to know him best through His word. When you sit down to read, look for Jesus in every verse. Don't give up no matter what your situation is, and don't turn back! Lift up your eyes to your Redeemer...He really, truly loves you, and whether you feel it or not, He is right there with you, guiding you, helping you, carrying you.  In the midst of your pain, praise Him.

Revelation 7:12:
Blessing, and glory, and wisdom,
and thanksgiving, and honor, and power,
and might, be unto our God for ever and ever.

  1. Amen! One time reading through the gospels I recorded every Scripture that Jesus said that started with "I tell you the truth" (or similar phrasing). If I remember correctly it was 73 times (or perhaps 48?) I know I wrote a "brilliant" piece about truth, Jesus' truth compared to the truth of the world, for A/Z (T - truth) in 2013 but then deleted it when I dropped out of A/Z due to "family" problems at the time. We will only know the truth of Jesus if we are immersed in his word and let it penetrate our heart. Everything else we hear has to see if it lines up with the Bible. If it doesn't, it is not the truth and we must be discerning. Always!
